Have you met (the female version of) Ted?
Actress
Greta Gerwig has been cast as the lead role in CBS' "How I Met Your Mother" spin-off, "How I Met Your Dad."
Gerwig will play the lead role of Sally, a New Yorker in her late twenties in search of "the one."
Unlike Josh Radnor's Ted, she will be married in the pilot episode but will come to realize she has nothing in common with her new husband.
Sally will use the help of her friends and family as she embarks on the single life.
It's unclear if the roles of her pals will be anything like Ted's core group of friends.
If we had to guess, a legendary girlfriend who is going to "teach her how to live" and best friends from college who have only had eyes for each other could be by her side.
The writers behind "HIMYM," Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, have written the new project with "Up All Night's" Emily Spivey.
The story will have the same premise as the long-running sitcom but it will be Gerwig, 30, telling the tale of how she met her children's father.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the pilot will be filmed in Los Angeles but will move to New York City to tape if the series is picked up by the network.
After nine seasons, the series finale of "How I Met Your Mother" starring Radnor, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris, Alyson Hannigan and Jason Segel airs on CBS on March 31. [
